How Should Artists Use Clubhouse?

What is Clubhouse?

This new application is taking the digital world by storm. It started as a way for Hollywood celebrities and other moguls to connect with each other during the pandemic, it has now begun to grow into a social media platform in itself.

Taken from the Clubhouse Website:

"Clubhouse is a new type of network based on voice. When you open the app you can see “rooms” full of people talking—all open so you can hop in and out, exploring different conversations. You enter each room as an audience member, but if you want to talk you just raise your hand, and the speakers can choose to invite you up. Or you can create a room of your own. It’s a place to meet with friends and with new people around the world—to tell stories, ask questions, debate, learn, and have impromptu conversations on thousands of different topics.

Clubhouse is voice-only, and we think a voice is a very special medium. With no camera on, you don’t have to...

Add Lyrics To Instagram Stories

lyrics musixmatch Dec 22, 2020

Have you ever seen lyrics perfectly synced on an Instagram story? Well, this is available to independent artists too... let me show you how.

Add Lyrics to Social Media with MusixMatch

MusixMatch is an aggregator that specializes in lyrics. Though there are other ways to get lyrics onto platforms like Instagram, I prefer this one.

Adding synced lyrics will not only help strengthen your brand but will also help to teach your fans your song lyrics more effectively. It's like those old sing-alongs when you were a kid!

In the video above I will show you how to start the process of uploading your lyrics. You first need to be a verified artist on MusixMatch so they know it's really you updating your lyrics.

Step 1: Sign up for an account on MusixMatch

Step 2: Apply for a verified artist account

Step 3: Sync your lyrics (pt 2 coming soon)

I know we talk a lot about finding your target audience in the Artist Collective. But it's not just about selling your songs. Your music can be a lot more than that... and it should.

It's art. It's a message. It's your creative energy in music form. And, it can also be therapy for listeners who are connecting with you and your songs.

Check out this great blog post from Karen Weeks from Elderwellness.net.

Here we’ll take a look at how music soothes the soul and can heal from the inside out.

What is music therapy?

Music therapy is the process of utilizing music – either playing or listening to – to create a sense of...

@ac_vinnie budget tere wang Nov 30, 2020

One of the most common concerns our consulting clients bring to us is debt repayment and managing their payments in the midst of growing their music business. Is LaunchTV The Key to Monetized Livestream Concerts? MICPodcast S2E4 Recap

Another instance of music’s impossible question; How can we do the live music industry justice in the current pandemic landscape? Brian Stollery from Launch has some ideas.

Last week we met with Brian Stollery, current co-founder of Launch.TV, to chat about his new venture, live-music solutions, and the future of virtual events.

(Could be more here maybe?)

Here’s what you need to know:

The Problem with Current Streaming Services

As with a majority of live streaming hosting sites and events, the artist remains undercut. Brian and Vinnie discuss how while it’s seemingly cheap to conduct a livestream, (think Instagram, Twitch, YouTube) the winner still falls in the hosting platform for payout.

So what can artists do if they want to remove the middleman? Between cloud computing, encoding, and other technical logistic costs, options are limited.

As Brian describes it, “Artists just want to show up and play.” For the average musician...

Using Fan Subscriptions to Monetize Your Music

A DEEP DIVE INTO HOW BANDZOOGLE ARTISTS ARE USING A FAN SUBSCRIPTION MODEL THAT HAS RESULTED IN $139,000 OF REVENUE SINCE MARCH 2020.

In case you haven’t found a website you love, I highly recommend diving into Bandzoogle. It’s a website builder I’ve used for over a decade for my own bands and for several clients of mine.

Bandzoogle is by musicians, for musicians which is why they make it extremely easy to build a stunning, revenue-ready website and store in minutes.

Here’s the thing, they could’ve very easily raised their monthly website fees or implemented small commissions on sales to compensate for that effort.

But they didn’t. And not only that, musicians are making even more money now than ever before.

In a recent blog post, Bandzoogle CEO Stacey Bradford...
